The Bible Studies in this paperback cover the book of Genesis well. Each study contains several kinds of questions: 1) Information questions like, "What is Jacob doing?" 2) Thought questions like, "Why do you think Noah did that?" And 3) application questions like, "How should we respond when this happens to us?"Humanly speaking, such Bible studies depend on a number of things: 1) A group atmosphere where people feel free to discuss. 2) Some members of the group with solid Bible background. 3) A leader with a little charisma to keep people focused and engaged.I loved using this book and will likely use it again.
I thoroughly enjoyed this study. I needed to jump deeper into the Word and this allowed me that opportunity. I did this as an individual study rather than a group and completed the questions in a journalling format. I really did learn so much more about the book of Genesis that I didn't pick up just by reading it straight through. And this study also makes it possible to read this book not only as a story of the past, but makes it possible to apply it to today's life and times. It did seem to drag out a little bit at times. I was a long month to spend in one book of the Bible. But, again, well worth the time spent.
Nice and easy study for a new student of the bible. Great for small groups or individual study. Not helpful for someone who's looking for an in-depth study. Very short - much shorter and easier study than I expected, but I am still enjoying it with our small group.
An excellent book for individual study. Could be good for group study, but it could easily take over a year to go through in a group setting.They don't give a lot of room for writing answers, I'd recommend a spiral bound notebook to go with this study.
The format is inductive, which means you answer a series of open-ended questions about each passage. It has worked very well for our Sunday school group of about 10 men. It has spawned some excellent discussions, and allowed them to openly share where they are with the Lord. It would also be good for an individual who wants to grow in understanding God and His desires for him or her.
