We just got our copy of this "Bear" book today. It is a very sweet story with a great "message" about sharing and also the value of good friends. The rhyming was just a tad awkward in a couple of places, but that is the only reason I took off a star and really I wish I could take off only 1/2 a star. It is still an EXCELLENT book - as are almost all of Karma Wilson's. I am saving this book for my children for the first cold, fall day as a special treat when we can't go outside to play.

Our family has most of the Bear Books--This is a fine addition. I bought a second book to give to my nephews for Thanksgiving! My 8 year old and five year old both never tire of listening to these stories about the Bear and his cute woodland buddies.

Bear gets upset because he has no food to share with his friends for Thanksgiving, but it works out, because he always has stories to share! (And he doesn't realize that lending his cave for the celebration is just as important as contributing food!!) Bear DOES say "thanks" continually throughout the story, and the other animals use their manners nicely, too!

We have "Bear Snores On" which my 3 year loves. I didn't realize there was a series until I checked out . We decided to purchase "Bear Says Thanks" and he loves it! Great story and message along with warm, colorful illustrations. Book was larger than I expected (and with a cover!) which was a bonus.

Bear is bored in his cave. He decides he will have a feast to share with his friends. But he opens his cupboard and sees that it is bare. One by one his friends happen by with some food. Before long there is a feast for everyone. But Bear is ashamed because he has nothing to contribute to this feast. His friends remind him that he has amazing stories to share with them. Throughout the story, Bear says thanks to his friends for their generosity. The illustrations were created in acrylic paint. They are colorful, but soft giving a warm and fuzzy feeling. The expressions of the animals are very well done so you feel happy when they are happy. This is my second experience with the Bear series and I am in love with these characters! They are a wonderful example of true friendship. No one is left out, no one is made to feel bad for any shortcomings. Everyone works together for the good of the group. And Bear is absolutely adorable. He is a character that you can't help but love! The writing is simple--letting the illustrations do much of the talking--but well done. This would be a delightful book to read especially at Thanksgiving, but any time would do. I highly recommend for ages 3-7

The stories surrounding Bear are so wonderful, the rhythm of the words has a nice cadence. Bear and his friends have great adventures together. I would recommend these books to everyone. I believe I have purchased and given away 4 sets of the books starring Bear (8 books in the series I believe).

Love this whole line of "Bear" books. Very disappointed it is not available as a board book like the others. It is pretty big with paper pages that even I have to be careful not to tear. Good way to talk about Thanksgiving, friends and family with a 4 year old.

This series is the best. The stories are fun to read aloud. They have simple understandable lessons on kindness. The illistrations are outstanding. I have purchased them all and look forward to new ones.
