My son was learning fractions and this book made it fun because he gets to practice the work and learn some other facts. They explain each procedure and step clearly and then have a type of puzzle at the end of every excercise. For example they will talk about a presidents nickname and to find out what it is, you have to do the math fractions and the numbered answers correspond to a letter that you fill in at the bottom of the page and you get the answer. It's also a good way to double check because if the word doesn't make sense that means one of your answers is wrong and you need to double check. He liked it and was not upset whenever we had to do work from that book. I also used the multiplication/division version and it was just as fun.
Solid and straight forward, useful in teaching post-secondary adults who have been "out of school" for decades!would recommend to anyone.
