This book is fun. We have this one and David A. Adler's "Working with Fractions" -- both get the job done with great illustrations and very clear text.I like this one a bit better than Adler's book, and I think it is because it shows how the same shape can be split into fractions different ways (for example, a flag is split vertically, then horizontally).Great choice -- give it a try.
This is a great way to introduce fractions. I used this story in my second grade class and my students really go the concept of fractions.
I read this book to my 3rd grade students as part of our unit on fractions and they absolutely loved it! I didn't know students could love fractions so much!
Great complement to our math work with fractions in third grade.
