This series by Key Curriculum Press is an excellent way to strengthen your child's (or anyone's) math skills. The worktexts are printed on newsprint-paper to save money and resources. Each page covers one concept only, with an introduction and one or more pages of practice to anchor the concept in the student's mind. Each concept builds on the previous one, and each book builds on the previous one, developing mastery incrementally. Students work at their own pace, a page at a time, or three... or eight! This is math the way it should be... clear, easy to use, comprehensive. I give Mr. Rasmussen 5 stars!
These workbooks are fantastic. My 5th grade students like them because they make sense, and because they can go at their own pace. I tutor a small group of struggling students after school, today was the first time I was left with nothing to do. I gave them the Key to Fractions books and they really didn't need much help. I like that they build student confidence by beginning with very simple concepts. Students start out shading benchmark fractions, and very quickly move towards difficult operations.
A really great, accessible way to learn fractions for all ages.
Systimatical, easy good course. The only disadvantage: no challenge.
