I enjoyed the story but I would have loved more detail and depth in the back ground on the Duke, the Earl and Lydia's family. I would have loved to read about the friendships and families that were the fruit of the ball.
SPOILER ALERT!!! This book was a play on the typical twin-switch. I just wanted to shake the duke and the twin's family for not figuring out things sooner. I mean, the main character was an identical twin--humble and too kind for her own good, whereas, her sister was selfish and wanted the attention her sister had. I wish there had been a few twists to the story to make it less predictable and more interesting to read.I've read three other books by this author that were much better, so I will definitely continue reading works by this author.
Twins Cassandra and Jane go to visit their aunt, partly to separate Jane from an undesirable suitor. They all attend a ball where the girls meet Charles Buxton, the Duke of Hertfordshire, and his friend, Earl Jameson.When the Duke shows an interest in Cassandra, jealous Jane tries to interfere.
Beautiful love story. The gregarious conniving twin manipulates the quiet regal twin to win the Duke's heart for herself. But the heart wants what the heart wants. True love always wins. The emotional journey of the characters can be felt in every page. I was given an ARC for an honest review.
