I homeschool my 12 year old. This is a perfect brush up before pre-algebra. We have also done the Chris McMullen book Fractions - Add, Subtract,Multiply and Divide. In both books the lesson is explained simply and then it's all about repetition. They have both been EXTREMELY helpful to us. I am looking forward to doing one or two others in the series. Thanks for a great book!!
It's difficult for me to explain the concepts of fractions, decimals and percents to my son, let alone the calculation among these concepts. This workbook helps to solve this problem. It contains multiplying decimals, converting fractions to decimals, converting fractions to repeating decimals, converting non-repeating decimals to fractions, converting repeating decimals to fractions, relating percents to decimals and decimals to percents. Whenever my son does not understand the calculation, he always refers to this book. He also does the practice in this workbook. Although it is not fun, the exercise is really efficient in improving math skills. When my child takes the online Beestar weekly tests (a wonderful website beestar.org, which provides free math program), he often ranks high among his peers. I give credits to this book. Highly recommend.
Very different from what I expected--- same type of problems repeated over and over - no variations - no fraction add/division problem - nor conversion to/from decimal. Cover picture is misleading. I would not recommend to any one who wants to learn fraction and percentage. No arithmetic problems.
Great tutor and mentor for math. This book helps when others are not around to explain. Every student regardless of grade should have to learn or as a refresher.
Basic drill book. Good for drill and kill but will not help much toward common core teaching. Boring.old still teaching.
This was instrumental in helping me pass the hesi A2. Also study ratios , there were a lot of them on the test.
bought for my 11 year old in sixth grade, to help with her math class this year. So far so good.
My 7th grade homeschooler love's this book nit has examples and details how to do the problems.
