Margaret Sedgewick is preparing for yet another ball. This is her second Season and she despairs of ever finding a suitable husband. Her mother insists that she must marry a title, but her suitors are all so shallow.Margaret slips away from the ball and makes her way to the stables. As she is deciding which of her host's horses to take for a midnight ride, she encounters a man who gives his name as David. Margaret assumes that he is the stable master.I have deducted one star from my rating for more than ten errors.
This is an absolutely delightful read! Definitely one of the best regency romance stories out there. It has a lot of enjoyable surprises tucked in the plot. I adore Margaret's witty and charming personality. Her relationship with her sisters is so entertaining to witness. I love how the author depicted the uniqueness of each Sedgewick sister. David is such an interesting character as well. I like that he brings out a different side of Margaret. This book did not disappoint at all! I can't wait for the next one. 5 stars to the author!
A sweet Historical Romance. But it was very short. I could see this becoming a longer book with more excitement. Elizabeth Downton writes books that are similar yet a little bit different. If you like one of her books, I'm sure you would like them all. I will continue to read a few more of her books because sometimes I miss the sweetness of a story.
A very good and light romantic read!
