I purchased this book for my 5 year-old and at first, it seemed very appropriate. Addition, subtraction. Things that any 5-year-old should be learning. But then, it switched gears to simple comparisons (which item is larger? Which Item is higher? etc.). It was a total waste of time after the first half of the book.

Excellent resource. The Spectrum Math Books are quality math books that focus on the very basics. They have extensive, step by step practice in the very basics of math. For example, in the Kindergarten level book they will have lessons and practice on graphing, counting, basic adding and so on. They will not have lessons and practice in making different types of graphs or subtraction which is not grade level appropriate.Spectrum math books provide a sound and strong foundation in the building blocks of math. If your child is in need of extra practice in a specific skill area or in math at a specific grade level this is a great book to put up. If you are homeschooling and you want your child to have a good grasp of the basics before going further, this is a great book to pick up.Basic Skills, Learning, What more can you ask for?Enjoy.

My daughter loves workbooks. She is five years old. There were some sections in this book that were a little too easy for a child her age, but it was good review. And, of course, she didn't mind that a few pages were really easy for her. It covers a lot of material, but only spends a couple pages for each topic. It's not too in depth but it gets the gears going and gets them thinking. The thing I liked most was that the activities were different...Each page had a different activity. Sometimes she had to color things, sometimes she had to draw, sometimes it was tracing numbers, etc. The activities/pictures were big and clear so she didn't get confused much, even on sections that she hasn't learned yet, like telling time or counting money. My only complaint is I wish it were longer. It was definitely a good price, though, and worth it! I would definitely recommend this workbook to any parents of kids ages 3-6.

This would be a great home school curriculum if anyone is looking for one. I used the first part of the book to give my daughter a jump start on her Kindergarten year. I am glad that I did. I will use the book to suppliment her schools curriculum which is actually Abeka but this will work well with that curriculum

This workbook was a perfect beginning to math for my daughter. She has done very well in math and I think it is due to the fact that she started with this workbook.

I use these books as a supplement for my kindergartners homeschool curriculum. I think they are a great resource for supplemental material. I don't know if I would recommend them for primary material.

I purchased this for my five year old (homeschooled). The concepts were pretty self explanatory. She blows through the work since each pages usually only contains a few problems. I do wish that there was a little more review or assessment at the end of each unit. This book would be ideal more for a beginning of the year kindergartener versus an end of the year one. Overall, I'm content with the book, but it isn't going to last her very long.

I think, overall , it is a helpful book. My kindergartener enjoys it. It is somewhat simplistic. Itshould be a supplement to another math book.
