I have to have read a really super, super book to give five stars...just me! That being said, I did enjoy this book immensely. I had not intended to read the whole book at the time I opened it but ended up just going ahead and reading it all, getting to bed a tad bit later than I'd planned. The book did capture my interest immediately and I wanted to read on until I'd finished it. Magaret is a fine writer with great characters and a good plot that kept my interest. It was not at all racy which can be a nice change of pace. I tend to skip over those parts in other books I've read anyway. A great book if you would like a good, quick read.
Deadly Holiday is yet another enjoyable read by Margaret Daley. I was captivated right at the beginning when Tory witnesses a hit-and-run. The story is full of suspense and action that I love to read in Daley's books. It is a quick read and perfect for anyone who loves a suspenseful read. And with it being set during Christmas time, it is perfect to read during the holiday season (or any other time of the year). Great novella!5 stars.
When Tory's husband passed away from his battle with cancer she wanted to start over, leaving the reminders of him. She packed & moved to a small town with her son, Morgan. Jordan returned home after several deployments to Afghanistan with PTSD. He now owns & manages many rental properties. Tory rented one of Jordan's houses across from his home. When Tory witnesses an old man run down by a car & killed, she reports it to the police. As they arrive, they don't find a body. Is the man still alive or is something sinister going on in the police department? Why is Tory now being targeted? Relying on God, can Jordan & his service dog keep them all safe? This is another great book in this series!
Deadly Holiday by Margaret Daley is a very easy to follow mystery with just enough action to keep the reader interested but not so complicated that you get lost in who is who in the story or what each person's story line is really about. Great story for young readers as well as the more mature audience.
Deadly Holiday, by Margaret DaleyAnother Exciting suspense story by Margaret Daley. Was not able to figure how this would end. This story had a lot of danger in it. This is a story where one ended up having a hard time trusting the police sergeant and others on the police force. Tory wasn't sure who she could trust and she desperately needed to have someone to trust. Tory saw a hit and run, the man being killed. Several were trying to get rid of her because she reported seeing it. They even tried to frame her in dealing in drugs, which would ruin her career as a school teacher. Her friend and neighbor, Jordan, became quite involved in trying to help her solve her situation. Shared all I dare to share. I highly recommend this book to all of you. Well worthwhile reading.
I've read books by this author before, and some were pretty good. This one was just mediocre. It read like a novella with everything going pretty quickly. Could have been better, but okay if you're just looking for something light and entertaining.
This is an awesome story that I was able to read in just a couple of hours. Something freaky is happening and Tory tries to do the right thing, but ends up being the one in trouble. Only her neighbor believes her and tries to help.
This book grabbed me at the very beginning. I was unable to put the book down. Full of suspense, mystery, intrigue, and much more. Loved the storyline and the characters. A very fast roller coaster ride.
