Average. The book is laid out nicely enough and kept my children's interest. But, I bought this to use for homeschooling trusting that it was introducing topics that would be common core related. I also assumed it would be good preparation for the Stanford test. It was not on both counts. I had a third and second grader and had these books for the corresponding grade level. I supplemented the workbook topics with projects, library books, further discussion, field trips, DVDs, etc. I felt confident for them going into the Stanford test. My children both did poorly in this one subject. After researching the common core based test questions, I discovered there were numerous topics and people (Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt, etc) and Indian Tribes that had not been presented in these workbooks. This and related books in this series not worth the money. I honestly wish I had something positive to say. I get better use out of used (twenty-five cent) common core hard back and soft books offered here at .
Easy to use yes, maybe for a 1st grader. There's hardly any content! Even along side other curriculum it's pathetic as supplement. I seriously think it's more appropriate for a much lower grade level.
Bought this to homeschool 9 yr old I bought a book that had every course in it and seemed to run out of social studies work before the second month. And to my surprise this book was what I needed to complete his studies.
Love this book. It's easy to understand with lot's of maps and pics.
This book is easy to use for my 11 year old. It supplements public school beautifully. She can do it on her own without help from me.
Content is more appropriate for 1st or 2nd grade. There isn't enough content. It is easy to understand but too much so.
This is a pretty good book. My daughter really likes the lessons. Also makes teaching and discussion very easy.
