This is one of my favorite devotionals ever. It is packed with hilarious stories and thought provoking sermons. There aren't too many of these studies that I enjoy watching multiple times. This one is great. Andy has a way of teaching that is relatable and applies to real life- not just the lives of isolate Christians. He has a way of reaching real people.
A new twist on fishing. While many churches are struggling with old school fishing in this modern world, this 6 part video series helps breath new life into fishing. It's entertaining as well as insightful. We are small town here and many things are still done "old school" so this was new and refreshing to me. If you are from the era where you hand out tracks and go door to door inviting people to church, then this will be insightful. If you are from larger towns where you have speakers like Andy Stanley and other great nationally known speakers then this will not be news to you.....but it is a good refresher and reminder of what we are ALL called to do and why and just how important it is! This DVD was used in our Life Group study but I purchased it also so that we could share it with others and we have watched segments of it numerous times. It is good for a group study or for individual use.
Our Sunday School Class has finished one DVD by Andy Stanley and has just started this one. We really enjoy the material and our class builds every week as members spread the word about the program. I hope we can find more after we finish this one. Many of our members ask to take the DVD home to listen to it again after we have completed the lessons. We recommend the DVD to anyone and everyone!
We couldn't be more pleased with Andy Stanley's "Go Fish" book and DVD series. It's an easy study to lead - there are 6 lessons. Our Small Faith Group of 8 couples takes turns facilitating, which is a no-brainer - turn on the DVD player and then read the questions. Of the 16 we have a PhD, 2 attorneys, a cardiologist, a banker, business people and several housewives - they all like it! The study has been very thought provoking and encouraging.....and dare I say life changing. We're anxious to do more of Andy Stanley's studies!
We purchased the Go Fish Study Guide to accompany the Go Fish DVD. Our Bible Study group uses the 20 minute DVD to have a common knowledge of the materials before we begin answering the questions at the end of session. We find excellent interaction by all participants. We have a range of backgrounds, ages and knowledge in our group. This study format bridges the differences and helps us to understand the importance of our personal experiences in witnessing to others.Andy Stanley provides an excellent sermon on the topics each week. A longer version of the Sermon is available on the DVD and that is viewed by some individuals in the group as well.
I didn't choose 5 stars because while this is a wonderful study and we enjoyed it, I was not super-impressed by the content. Andy Stanley's work is good, but I felt like he re-hashed what ever other minister out there is saying, recorded it, and threw it out there for everyone who buys his stuff no matter what to read. The content was correct, it just didn't have a lot of meat to it. I still love Stanley and will continue to research his studies. I will not buy 30+ books for a small group without reading it first.
I love this DVD sermon series. I'm currently using it as the material for my high school Sunday school class.
Sunday School class used this and loved it. Andy Stanley's videos and books are so easy to understand and enjoyable. Always a lesson learned from his work.
