My husband and I like to read books aloud to each other. When we began this book, we were both a little "put off" by the amount of time the author spends with God in prayer. We were discouraged, thinking how could we possibly do this much praying and sitting up late at night or in the middle of the night with God? We both have demanding jobs -- and I don't do well when I'm sleep-deprived. We thought, if this is what it takes to be able to see in the spirit, well, it just seems too unattainable. But the author's experiences were interesting enough to keep us reading. At the end, the author shares some things you can do, in a practical sense, to tune your eyesight into the spiritual realm and to get closer to God. This was quite helpful! I started practicing one of the exercises and started seeing "smoke" in my bedroom at night. The smoke is actually there -- every night. It's to the point now, that if it would go away, I guess I would wonder why. It starts at the floor and winds it's way up toward the ceiling. I heard the Lord say "Where there's smoke, there's fire." It wasn't like a fog, but twisting, turning waves of smoke as if from incense or the smoke that comes from a candle wick after you blow it out. When I wave my hand through it, it moves, just like it would in the natural realm. My husband joined me in the exercise and we both saw stars in our room as if our ceiling was the night sky. I haven't seen an angel yet, to my knowledge, but look forward to going deeper and getting more tuned in to the spiritual realm. I appreciate this book much more now than I did at the start, needless to say!
As a seasoned Christian of 40 years filled with the Holy Spirit and actively moving in the "gifts" But I cannot recommend this particular book for the simple reason that the author does not site enough scripture references to back up his visions and directions. I am also disturbed by the lack of mention of the name and person of Jesus in his meditations. I feel there were too many vague and "grey" areas. "just focus on a blank spot in the room" I really did not like that! When I focus my heart it is focused on Jesus and His heart. Sorry I cannot recommend thisI do want to point reader to another book that I think is a more accurate discipleship called How to Work With Angels In Your Life by Kevin Basconi http://www..com/gp/product/B00FVE7ZCG/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title This author clearly starts with Jesus as "the Cornerstone" (amen) and takes the reader scripture by scripture to the references of angels in ministry in the Bible. It is easy to read and much more scripturally sound.
This was one book that made things simple and easy to understand. It also excited and encouraged me to press in and believe for more. He explains that we can all see and hear more from the Lord if we understand that we can. I would recommend this book to anyone who desires more.
Michael is very kind and generous to share his findings, and I value the way he humbly gives credit to many other men and women he rates well in this subject. The book gives such implicit instructions on how to be where he is in the spiritual dimension.I have spent the day, reading this slowly, pondering, and praying over it. A day incredibly well spent.Thank you!
In this book, Michael is sharing the path he followed to enable him to see in the spirit, and the points he makes are just the way it works with developing any ability - find those who have already accomplished what you desire to accomplish, immerse yourself in learning and practice, and the results will surely follow.Michael has listed a great list of resources to get anyone started, from good books, to videos and conferences. You can choose any method that you enjoy, and can afford to help you soak the information. You can pray for the gifts and you can benefit from impartation, by drawing on the gift from those who already have it.Michael spends a lot of time in prayer and in "waiting on the Lord" . He says for two years he played worship music in his home 24/7. In addition her read the Bible around and prophesied over the home and even people who aren't following the Lord, would see angels in his home. He shares a sample prayer."Father in Heaven, I call upon the resources of Heaven. I call upon the angelic armies to minister in our household. Let the angels of the Lord manifest their presence and their power openly in our home. Father let the saints and the prophets, the men in white linen, the living creatures and the cloud of witnesses minister your will to our household. Let your light and your glory fill this place to overflowing. in Jesus' name."He'd also be fasting - a very important point - praying and fasting release the spiritual gifts faster.
Wow, read this book in one day, couldn't put it down! This has got to be one of the best books I've read on Seeing in the Spirit and very sound. I am so hungry for this and the thing I like most about this book is how he really goes into detail of how to apply this to your walk and the things he's learned that worked for him along the way. Thank you Mr. Van Vlymen for sharing your testimony, I was very much blessed by it.
