Read this book to my 3rd grade class the first week for school. They loved it.

I love all the books by this brand. My 8 year old 2nd grader is reading above his reading level and he loves these books. He now wants to go up to level 5! Lol.. It builds his confidence to see the levels and to know he can continue to increase to higher level books. I will continue to order these books.

I took a chance on this one, as I didn't know the author and I'm always skeptical about writing styles for early readers. This one was funny and engaging, if a bit silly. The vocabulary is mostly controlled, though it could be a bit better. Mostly readable on an independent basis, which is important.

I love these series. But most important that my son does. I got 40+ books and he loves to read them (usually it is not that easy to make him read). I got mix of 2-3-4 levels for the second grader, second level is too easy, but it creates some fun and he reads them with pleasure. Love it, I would recommend it.

This book was not what I expected however it was a pleasant surprise. My 9 year old loved the story and how funny it was. Age appropriate for ages 6-9.

I think this book is great!. The reason I only rate it 3 stars is because the book is short and does not seem right for grades 2-3. It belongs more for grades 1-3, which Step into Reading would call step 3.

We liked this book because of the dog Buster and how he started the food fight. We recommend this book to kids who have little brothers or sisters and starting third grade. We also recommend this book for any principals. It will make them laugh.

With one starting second grade and one starting kindergarten, this was a fun book to read to them. I used their names instead of the ones in the book and we couldn't help but laugh while we read their story.
