This is truely a book to enhance your everyday living. It is one that will help you, not only know you have a guardian but put you in touch with yours and help you begin to pray and ask help of all the angels. Patricia's story is not only a story of bravery in the face of many obstacles (Patricia is completely blind and has much suffering to endure)but one of God's love for us that He would permit communications between a human and these heavenly creatures so that we might learn of His great love and care for us. Patricia's writing (another amazing thing since she uses a braille machine to help record her messages) will surely keep you reading and learning about your own spiritual life while being amazed at hers and the wonders God has performed in her soul. This book has made a big difference in my daily prayer life and has helped me make the angels an important part of my existance. Her view of suffering and uniting our life and suffering with that of Our Lord's, is a real blessing and one to help all who have open hearts and are open to God's plan for us. This is well worth your money and time.
This book tells the story of Patricia Devlin, a woman who is blind but who was blessed by God with many gifts, including the gift of being able to communicate with her guardian angel. She chronicles various conversations she has had with angels about the love of God and what He wants in our lives, and also talks about the usefulness of pain and suffering and how it can be offered to God for the salvation of others. This is an amazing and yet very true account which I highly recommend.
Patricia Devlin was certain she was "loosing it" when she could see light (since she was blind and even had her eyes removed at a young age)and heard voices. Her sincere writing chronicles her conversations with her guardian angel and others. The book was fascinating and I have never thought of angels in the same way since reading this book.
If anyone wants to allow the Holy Spirit to change his or her life in reading a book of truth, this is it! I will never be able to view suffering the same. Heaven, hell, and purgatory make perfect sense. Thank God for Pat Devlin.
It was some ten years ago when Patricia Devlin was blessed with the opportunity to speak to St. Michael. I got chills when Pat asked him about the Gulf War and our Country's relations with the Middle East. Pat said the archangel wept with such sorrow...Anyone would be shocked if they were told that Pat had her eyes surgically removed because she is able to see the light of angels! This is not just another fictional novel, this is real and we really do have guardian angels. This book has deepened my faith and changed how I view angels. With the world as it is today, we need their help! The book also deals with Saints and our Blessed Mother Mary. Patricia Devlin has inspired me with the wisdom confinded in this book.
This book was recommended to me by a friend who is active in the Catholic church. There is a "declaration" or acknowledgement in the front of the book to the Catholic church, but I don't know if it is considered "propietary" or not. I don't see any "stamp of approval" from a bishop or anything, for those wondering. It is an interesting read. The author explains how she was instructed to "give her pain to God, as an offering of grace" to those who most need grace. She was told never to seek this pain of her own accord, but that she would be allowed to suffer pain if it would help others trying to find their way to God. In a way it makes a person think that perhaps whatever they are suffering in the way of pain is not all for naught. If there can be any good to come out of suffering, this books explains how that might happen. It sounds strange to say that a blind woman can claim she "sees" and talks to angels, but once into the book, it doesn't seem odd at all. It all appears to agree with scripture, and answers many of the questions no priest has ever been able to answer for me. If indeed, these are "the answers" to things such as purgatory, pain, heaven and hell, and so on, then I am somewhat comforted by it.There is a lot of emphasis on Mother Mary and praying the rosary, which for some has become controversial. The chapters are short, so you can pretty much pick it up and put it down as needed without feeling like you've lost the story line.
After the tragic loss of my daughter, I spent much time meditating and listening for the voice of God. Everything that Patricia writes in her book, I have heard. It was a beautiful affirmation of our Heavenly Father's love for us that I now am blessed to know. Because of her blindness, she is able to listen carefully to the voices of the angels with little distraction. Beautifully written.
I first bought a cop of this book in 1998. Have read it a number of times. I recently purchased two more copies for friends, who also say they love it. I wonder if the author, Patricia Devlin, is still living, and if she has written any other books.
