My son LOVES this book. I am thrilled that it teaches him some of the things that he can do to help when the baby arrives. He is 19 months just to give you an age range. I also like how the book points out that he is an important part of the family even though there is a new baby. This would be a great gift for anyone expecting their second child!
Cute book. I read it to my 2 year old every night because he will have a little brother coming home soon. The illustrations are cute and the content is the right amount. My son asks for it now. I like that it can be read now as we prep for our new arrival but will still work after the baby has come. Some of the other books prepping for a new baby seem to only work for the pregnancy stage.
Caroline church doesn't have a single book under 5 stars in my opinion. She is by far my favorite child author. Every one of her books have a very strong positive message of loving your children no matter what.
I purchased this book for my nephew who is becoming a big brother. The book is easy to read and the illustrations are cute. It does not specify that the new baby is a boy or girl, which was exactly what I was looking for. Very satisfied!
The perfect big brother book. We gave this to my toddler (almost 2) at the hospital when his baby brother was born along with a small toy and his favorite snack. He loved it and it was a nice way to show him that he wasn't forgotten. We snuggled up in my hospital bed with the baby and read it together over and over. Adorable book, I recommend this to any toddler that is about to become a big brother!
sweet and short and positive big brother book! it's certainly given good examples and ideas to my 2.5 year old son and he even reenacts bits of the book towards my belly. I'm a fan of this illustrator/writer and her other books are just as empowering and positive for a toddler on his/her little journeys. ;)
We bought this for my son in anticipation for the arrival of a sibling. He loved reading this book in particular, I think because there is a nice rhyme scheme that is very catchy. He's 2, so it was a great fit for him. The pictures are very cute with lots of patterns that he likes to touch (it's not a textured book but the colors are so interesting he likes to feel them!). The book also includes some very real experiences (like having big brother help change the baby's diaper by getting a clean diaper for mom and dad) and we use the rhyme in the book to help remind him of that, which gets him involved. This was a great purchase to help ease the transition of a new baby in our house.
Such a cute story!! We got this for our 3 year old son who will be a big brother in a couple weeks. We wanted to put together a gift bag for him, so we got this book as part of it, and we're glad we did.This book is adorably written and highlights the pros of being a big brother. It's a great book for making any little guy feel special about having a new little one in the house. The last thing we want is for our son to feel like he has been replaced or anything like that, and I know many other parents could say the same. I recommend getting this book for the new big brother in your house to let him know that he is special and can be a great helper to the new baby!
