I bought this to read to my preschoolers class for Chinese New Year as she is from China. It gives an interesting history of the holiday but is very scary in the end with the tale of a monster who is chased away by the fireworks they use for the holiday. Very interesting but maybe not for little kids. .
This book is such a sweet story that introduces the reader to so many parts of the Chinese New Year/Spring Festival and it is all because a little girl wonders why they celebrate it. Fun book with beautiful and simple illustrations.
I bought this book for my Great Nephew. My Niece said he really liked it. I give him a book for each Holiday every year.
Nice way to introduce kids to celebrations from another country.
