Let me start by saying what this book is: a clear, concise and easy-to-read guide on the five fold ministry gift of the apostle and the prophet AND a prophecy on the coming moves of God. I began hearing about apostles and prophets and didn't have much understanding about modern-day apostles. Thankfully, this book answered all of my questions regarding the apostolic ministry. This book DOES NOT tell you to go and chase the next person that says they are an apostle. This book shows what the apostle's ministry would look like, how they would lead and, above all, that the apostle would lead with HUMILITY. Anyone that thinks they HAVE TO follow an apostle is sorely mistaken and didn't understand the message of this book, as the author addresses "extremes" in Chapter 12 and 13. Yes, there are apostles. Yes, apostles are headship ministries. NO, you don't have to be under a ministry that you don't feel called to! Not every ministry is for every body. And that's fine. A true ministry doesn't have to COMPEL people to be under their covering. HOWEVER, it would be foolish to not follow or at least partner with a ministry that has signs following, that shows pure motives, is more interested in establishing the body of Christ than their own agenda, is established on "present truth", is bearing MUCH FRUIT (much fruit being people that are not only a part of the "church" but a part of the BODY of Christ!) and above all, that its main message is Jesus Christ. I learned so much from this book. I especially enjoy Bishop Hamon's very simple and direct style. It was an easy read but the depth of the explanations given were profound with many scripture references. If you had to read ONE book on the ministry of apostles, this should be it. If you had to read ONE book on the gift of the Prophet, this should be it. Excellent book.
A wonderful, detailed and scriptural presentation on the issue of whether or not apostles exist in the church today. Dr. Hamon also reveals the picture of what the mature and prepared church looks like in order to receive the return of our Lord. With the focus being on the little known role of the apostle, he nevertheless illustrates how all five-fold ascencion gift ministries (Teachers, Pastors, Evangalists, Prophets & Apostles) are needed to bring the Bride of Christ to full maturity and with the right identity. Some of the truths revealed here will challenge prior concepts and teachings which we have espoused, however, examination of the supporting scriptures and examples reveal the soundness of these revelations. In some cases the revelations here might be as difficult to swallow as the revelation to the early church that gentiles could receive salvation without first having to become proselite jews, was for them to swallow. The truths revealed here are refreshing, liberating and exciting. Every Christian needs to read this book to know the resources and roles that are provided for us to grow into our true identities.
I rated this book very high because it is one of the best self help books that is written and available on the market for this century. This book has helped not only me, but it has been a tremendous help to the members of my church. I would recommend this book to everyone that wants to increase and improve their spiritual health.
This is a super book it will teach you so much about the Kingdom movement and what is now taking place. It will cause you to think about what the Lord is now doing. I think this book is a must read to help you understand all the Lord is now doing in this new time and season. It will bless you I am sure.
Dr. Hamon's book is a RHEMA heavily grounded in the LOGOS. If you desire to know how Jesus intended the Apostle and Prophet to relate and operate within the body, this book is a must. It is an easy read packed with wisdom and practical application of five fold ministry.
For years I have used Apostles, Prophets and the Coming Moves of God; for a resource for teaching in international Ministers Conferences. I have given many paperback copies to many ministers and teachers for use in Bible Schools. When I returned home, often I would find I didn't have a copy for myself. Now with the Kindle edition, Hamon's Book is always handy.
I've read alot books about the whole prophet and apostle teachings, but this book was the best of the best. David Cannistraci was my Pastor and I read his book and have the audio teaching on the subject, but Bill Hammon to me is the most accurate writter on the subject. Most of the men or women who have written such books have all been under his teaching's. I am so grieved by the negative reviews I've seen, being warned myself by God not to take Prophecy in contempt and seeing the fire of God comming from this mans mouth, and just being under the anointing God has placed on this mans life makes me quiver at the thought of saying anything bad about him!!!!!!!! He goe's into the Church history and what each denomination has brought into the Church. Read it and see for yourself. I have many of his audio teachings and he's just a fun guy to be around.
