I have read a few of John Allegro's books. If you are unaware of the history of the DSS and the extent to which the DSS were kept under lock and key for DECADES, then this is the first book you should read.

My title above is the best I could come up with. It has been over a year since I read this book. It would be a great source for information for Biblical scholars, but my knowledge of such is quite lacking. Most info in the book is new and unfamiliar to me. But the book is a great addition to my library.
