My 7 year old wanted to learn some cursive so we got this book for her. She's really enjoying it. There's pages to practice upper and lower case letters, as well as pages for words and sentences in the back. She can write her name in cursive now and is excited to keep practicing.
As a homeschooling family, we have tried many different handwriting books. This book is the best value for the price. It gives your child plenty of space to practice each letter or word, and uses standard cursive letters. My child does not complain when I ask him to do a page now!
There are arrows numbering strokes. Blue top and bottom lines with pink dotted middle line. It says 2nd and up but it would work for any student to differentiate tall, short and descending letters.
This is not only for children who are in grades 2-4. I , myself, is in high school (currently). I bought this product because they stopped teaching cursive handwriting, so i never learned. This is an excellent source of practice and i encourage you in to buying as well.
This is a good tool to teach students as young as six how to gain cursive penmanship skills. I did not like that the q was changed. When I learned how to write them they looked like the number 2. I think that should be added to this book.
For some reason, cursive handwriting is no longer taught at school in our district, and I think it is important for children to be able to read and write in cursive. This book is easy to use at home, is very straightforward, and does what it is supposed to do. I am glad my son is learning cursive, and I hope that the school decides to add it to the curriculum again one day soon!
I've had this book for a long time. thought I'd use it to supplement my kids' education. then I found out that the schools have given up on teaching cursive. so I used this for my 5th grader. I plan to buy another one for my two younger children to share (I would have to photocopy the pages).
Needs dotted lines of the cursive letters so kids will be able to trace. This book is not working for my 8 year old niece at all. She has no experience in cursive writing, should be pages for her to trace before attempting to write the individual letters, and eventually words.
