I love this book. It arrived promptly and is perfect. I use it to teach persuasive writing. It is very effective in that students relate to the subject matter and have their own opinions. Also, since it is written by students, it is in a language that they connect with.

I read this book (As well as others) to my third graders as a mentor text for teaching persuasive writing. We then gathered articles for and against allowing electronic gadgets in school. Half the class wrote a persuasive piece for and half were against. We then had a debate and voted on who had the best arguments. I modeled this writing assignment after the book and it worked out great. The kids really enjoyed writing their point of view and having it heard.

My assistant principal handed me a list of books she wanted purchased after attending a conference. This was one of several and it is helping to update our non-fiction 500s section of our media center. Should correlate well with Common Core.

I have used it in class for a couple of years and it just gets better in helping kids relate to persuasive text.

I purchased these for a teacher in my school district as requested. She has been very happy with them so far.

Thanks for the great book. It is in really good shape and I will enjoy reading it to my students.
