I bought the Johnny Tractor series for my son 25 years ago, and was thrilled to find them for my grandson. These are heavy duty cardboard books that will stand up to the abuse of a 1 year old. My only disappointment is that Johnny Tractor is now called "J.T." in the books.
I bought this book maybe 6 months ago and it fell apart a month ago. My son loves to point at objects in the book like a game so we still "read" it. I think I'll have to get out some duct tape or box tape, because my 2 year old loves these tractor books!
He wore the first one out that Grandma had purchased at a supermarket and I had to find a second online through , but it's the first book he gave me kisses for when I read to him. He is fascinated by machinery as I'm sure most boys are.
It's a great small board book with pages that are easy for my 14 month old to turn. He has severely damaged other less substantial board books. The images on the page are simple and clear. I point the the basket of apples and say "apples" and he points to another basket of apples. This books talks about colors. eg. "The apples are red. What other things do you see that are the color red?"
Another great John Deere book. This one teaches about colors on the farm. Not too many words, good for busy ones who don't sit still long.
If your grandkids like books they can hold, carry around and abuse, this is a very sturdy little book. It has great pictures offarm life and farm implements which make it perfect for that little 'farmer-wanna-be.'
teaches colors and has a lot for baby to look at. My son is obsessed with this book. We have to read it about 5 times a day.
A cute, yet simple book with vibrant colors--my 1 year old loves it. The pages are thicker and sturdier than most board books. While it does make it slightly harder for my child to turn the pages by himself, I believe this book will hold up better than most of his books.
