I recently purchased this book for my 6 year old son.The bank just got robbed by 3 crooks and it is up to the police to find them and save the day. My son really enjoyed this book. Some of the illustrations go along with some of the lego kits he has. Easy, understandable text and great illustrations. A must own for the lego lover that is beginning to read.
My son who is winding up his Kinder year (homeschool) must read a new book aloud everyday. I'm always looking for high-interest books while trying to keep it age/level appropriate. I'll admit, I purchased this solely for the interest (he loves Legos), but secretly wished this title (or similar) was offered at a Level 3.He tends to get excited over books, but I have never seen him light up the way he did when this came out of the box! The first thing I noticed was that it did not offer very many words per page (fitting for a level 1), but I was pleased to see several challenging words in the short sentences.A few good challenger words are: sirens, video, questions, officerBottom line: he LOVED the story, and illustrations, and he also loved watching his Lego sets come to life. I have purchased several Lego themed readers, and we have been pleased with all of them. I highly recommend these high-interest readers for any Lego fan!
Again, another good Lego reader for the K-2nd grade crowd. My 3 and 6 year old grand sons love the Lego City series of books. Definitely helps the reading learning process. Highly recommend this to your reader list. This has not been a challenge for 6 year old home schooled grandson. Very easy to read by himself and to his 3 year old brother.
I've been collecting these paperback Lego City books for my son. They are short books that he loves to have read to him. He's always looking at the back of the books and identifying the other titles he would like to buy.
We love the Lego books in our house - they are easy to read and these are simple enough for the kids to memorize and "read" to themselves after a few reads with us. We enjoy this entire four book series.
My son is a huge lego fan so when I purchased this for him to learn how to read, I was pleasantly surprised at how fast he was willing to pick up the words from the story. Since then, he has received the whole collection and is an avid reader of lego stories. Great book for beginning readers.
Perfect for brand new readers (ie, 1st Graders). The boys love this book. The fact that its Lego's get their attention to pull the book off the reading shelf, but the "action!" in the book keeps them engaged.
My son is struggling in reading and it is really important to pick the right level books so he doesn't get frustrated. This level is so perfect and he really likes this book. He picked out all his books so I think that really helped also.
