I was hesitant to buy since it is not Nat'l Geo, but I couldn't have asked for a better book for my young academic. There's layers of information here that will last her for several years- bright and interesting images with caption for now (7yrs), and maps and more complex text as she becomes more advanced. Addresses culture, global issues, and geography, and seems to hit all the areas of the world fairly. Great price and good enough condition to be a gift.
I like it but I wish they just listed the countries and I don't find such a list
