Ron Crandall does an excellent job of examining the dynamics of the small church as well as offering insights that can lead to the beginning of new life and fruitfulness. Based on solid research. Very helpful. Highly recommended.
Small churches can be a challenge, but they can be turned around. But to turn a small church around it will take an intentional plan. This book can help a pastor think through and implement such a plan.
This is a small, easily readable book which is part of the Effective Church Series, a series I might add appropriate for all clergy and church workers. Though a small book, a lot of time has obviously gone into the book. One of the most impressive feature is the strong amount of research. For example, several hundred clergy and congregations were surveyed.Turnaround churches in not rocket science! With lots of hard work and planning, mountains can be moved. In many respects, the techniques presented mirror many of the techniques utilized in the business world. Churches need to be places of excellence, where creativity is encouraged, and where members are willing to take risks.Kind of cool to think of churches as places of excellent, innovation, and excellence. And why shouldn't they be?
First, Ron Crandall is an expert on small churches. His vast research is well used in this book. I highly recommend the book to every congregation that is serious about growing their church. I also recommend Barna's Turn-around Churches.Second, this page shows a cover for a different book.
