I thought this was a wonderful book that doesn't bow to political correctness. As always, Dr. MacArthur remains steadfast in his commitment to Biblical accuracy. Far from being chauvinistic, it celebrates women as God has created them and encourages them to thrive in the roles God has specifically designed for them. He is an easy author to read yet quite thought-provoking as well!
MacArthur captures the essence of the highest calling given to any human...motherhood. This book is well written and the author uses only scripture to prove his points. A must read for every woman wondering what God has in store for her or as in my season of life, validating my life's work and worth.
While I realize that Dr. MacArthur cares far less about reviews for his books than "rightly dividing the word" I enjoy reviewing his books nonetheless. This book is a Dr. Mac classic. It is excellent to pinpoint accuracy on God's design for godly women. Those who desire that category get this book and his updated version too. They have more to do with exalting the glory of God than exalting the glory of women. Excellent and scripturally sound.
It teaches us where women stand in the church and how important it is to follow our calling as women before God.
Every woman should read this book. Men should have a knowledge of what the bible says about women as ministers. There are many opinions about woman ministering, which are tearing down the church. Once divine knowledge is being practised, then the church will become what the church suppose to be - with power and might. Read this book and follow the scriptures as you read so that you can get the true revelation. This book is a must buy if you are called into ministry.
For years I mostly avoided MacArthur's work, writing him off as rigid and doctrinaire. However, I've come to see that the standard he lifts up for women is the standard God presents in His Word, and the standard that brings peace to a weary heart.
Excellent Biblical perspective on God's role for women. This study serves as a guide to a great discussion on the roles of women and how Satan has twisted and perverted the truth in the world we live in. We used this last summer for a study and we had 40+ women in attendance who all came away with "Wow"
I like John MacArthur, so this book did not surprise me. The ending really felt abrupt and I'm not sure if I reached a conclusion with this book. Overall, if you're a fan of MacArthur, this book will be a good read.
