My four year old really enjoys this encyclopedia. She often picks it up and opens to a random page and has me read about it. Usually once she picks it up, she doesn't want to put it back down. There are a few game pages thoughout the puzzle, where it shows a winnie the pooh picture and will ask random questions about it (like - "how many insects can you find?" "what is roo looking at in the water", etc). She really likes those pages. She has learned a lot from this encyclopedia, and sometimes she finds something that really sparks her interest...so then we go to the library to get additional books on the subject. So, this encyclopedia is a great starting point to find things that your child might currently be interested in learning about.
This book is wonderful! It is laid out very well and the colors and pictures are beautiful.It is easy to follow along with for young children and keeps there interest (my three year old loves it).And best of all, it isn't overloaded with Disney characters. Disney did a great job by not forcing them down your throat and focused on the content. I cant wait to order the second book in the series.A beautiful book that would make a great gift for anyone with children!
We also have the animal version, I highly reccomend both books!My 5 year old has insisted we read the whole thing to him cover to cover! BOTH books this is true!It is great you can read only a few pages at a time of a lot and easily pick up right were you stopped.THis is set up in a great format.It has 5 simple chapters. EAch chapter has 4 character parts.first Owl explains in simple terms what the chapter will cover and what they all will have in common. mid chapter has, THATS Tiggerific. Tigger tells a bunch of fun facts about various subjects of the chapter. And Roo wants to know with more fun facts. Look and find with Piglet at the end helps kids find and identify things they just lerned about.Like mentioned, It is not overwhelmed by the disney characters, Everypage has a small scene at the top with an exchange between 2 hundred acre friends. The rest focuses on nature. There are many amazing colorful photos. Simple and informative paragraph giving a few key facts and info. and fun!Perfect For Pooh lovers, science lovers ,Nature lovers, book lovers, kids who just love to learn.
Wanted to say this is a wonderful book for children no matter what age. My daughter has always loved Pooh, he was always her favorite. We were in a doctors office & saw this book. She commented stating she wished she had this book. I found the book here on . I ordered the book & had it shipped to the house. When it came in, I let her open the package. While opening the package she had 3-4 friends around watching. Just wish you could have seen the excitement on her face when she realized what it was. She is now 13 years old. Seeing my daughter so excited about something so simple, absolutely made my day. The pictures are very good in this book, but enough description for young children to understand. Thanks for such a wonderful book!!!!
