The Fearless Conversation series is good, but sometimes requires a little extra work depending on your tradition. As a Wesleyan pastor, I find that I have to make a lot of changes, and there have been times in the "Fearless Conversations" series when I've been concerned enough about the theological perspective that I have skipped lessons all-together, or had serious talks with the group about where the lessons are flawed. It certainly isn't "deep" material, but accomplishes its purpose of fostering valuable conversation. For us, the conversation is of more value at this time than a deeply insightful biblical study, because many of our folks know the details of the Bible but don't know how to talk about their faith.Edit: We just made our way through the Politics and Violence chapters, and I'm no longer nearly as content with it. In fact, we won't order another of these books. The chapters were just terrible. The conclusions were terrible, and the discussion questions were based on assumptions I just can't make or share.
