I am completely satified with the New National Baptist Hymnal 21st Century - Loose - Leaf Edition (Musician Version). It is very attractive, well contructed,and easy to read. At the back of the book there are scriptural readings, a topical index and a glossary of musical terms in addition to the alphabetical listings. The book is put together really well and contains some of the old favorites and introduces newer selections.
I'm truly enjoying my new piano friendly national baptist hymnal. The pages stay open without the aid of another book.
I'm loving my New National Baptist Hymnal 21st Century Loose-Leaf Edition. It is really so beautifully put together, and it arrived just in time to play and sing Christmas carols! It has all of those songs we sung growing up in church, civil rights songs and anthems, scriptural readings, calls to worship, benedictions and meditations. It's well indexed and edited by renown pastors and ministers of music. I highly recommend this musician's version edition for anyone that's involved in praise and worship at their church.
This is a great song book, and the same as the 1997 version. I bought it for myself to carry with my other books on Sundays. It is quite a bit larger than the original book. I gave it to our organist and he loved it, especially with the music notes on it.
As I was raised in the Baptist church I always loved the songs that praised our Heavenly Father, I still do. My old copy of the Baptist hymnal was falling apart. I was so happy that this edition was offered in large print and in a wire backed binder. I am trying adapt the songs to acoustic guitar solos and it is a perfect tool; the only way it be better would the hymnal be in an electronic format with accompanying software to change the musical keys. It's tedious going from Ab to C by hand. But I'm lazy? Maybe not!
The New National Baptist Hymnal 21st Century has met my expectations. The music on each page is now in a larger print and is easy to read.There a are lot of new songs that have been added. I have an older version that is about twenty years old.
I haven't received my book ... but only order this week... but saw it on Sunday and it is compiled of some of the latest songs that are being sung in churches....I will use it for ministries outside of the church also-, i.e., nursing homes, seniors, etc. Fair price for a loose leaf book.
The new version has larger holes for the sheet music, which makes the pages easier to turn and allows for less damage to the music.
