The Summer Before Forever is the book I didn't know I needed right now. I can’t even describe the cuteness in this book. To be honest, when I saw this one on NetGalley I wasn’t going to request it because I’ve been quite unlucky with the ARC’s I’ve been reading recently but because this one was from Entangled TEEN I had to request it because by now you all probably know how much I love Entangled :P. Good thing I requested this book because I’m in love with all the cuteness (and Landon but I’ll talk about that later XD).I loved the characters in this book. Chloe was awesome. She went through something really difficult right before Summer but I loved to see her development. I loved how strong she became and how important art and music were for her. I also loved her friendship with Jenna. Those two were the complete opposite of each other it was amazing to see their friendship and how it never changed. I just need more friendships like this one in other books. I have to admit that Jenna was a little bit annoying but in the end I loved her and she was an amazing friend to Chloe… I might be not so secretly hoping that the next book is about her.But Chloe is not the only one that has a great character development. Her soon to be step-brother grows up a lot too. Let’s just say that Landon was just amazing. I loved him and I loved how much he cared about Chloe. I really liked to see their relationship development. Because Chloe is becoming his step-sister Landon tries to stay away from her but trying to be friends with her at the same time and I loved to see them getting to know each other before something really happened. I also loved to see them together and I can’t even describe the cuteness that it was every time that those two were together.
The Summer Before Forever is the perfect summer read!Chloe is spending the summer with her father along with her soon-to-be stepmother and very handsome stepbrother, Landon. Their story unfolds through both of their POVs, and I actually thought the flow of it worked perfectly for this book. There is more than what meets the eye when it comes to the two of them. They are dealing with some serious personal issues. I loved reading how their relationship helped grow them as individuals.Which all the characters made this book so enjoyable. We have Chloe who is this creative, music loving sweetheart. It's hard not to like her, and I especially connected to her once she began to describe the way music makes her feel. As for Landon.. He was a little too perfect at times. It was both annoying and adorable at the same time. He grew on me though and I ended up really liking the guy. All of the characters play a role throughout their story.. My favorite was Chloe's best friend, Jenna, because she was awesome and you know I love a strong female friendship! As the story progresses, everything that Chloe and Landon are dealing with come up to the surface. They are both finally forced to deal with their personal issues outside of one another.I have a confession to make.. Although I find it sweet when some books make as if falling in love can solve all of your problems from within.. It just isn't reality for most people. I think Melissa Chambers did a wonderful job writing a sweet love story while having these characters grow as separate individuals. Chloe and Landon find a way to grow as people for themselves before anyone else, and I really appreciated this.
Thank you to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for a copy of the eArc in exchange for an honest review.Chloe is on her way to visit her Dad with her best friend Jenna, she hasn't seen him in five months and he is getting married and she is a getting a new stepbrother. She really doesn't know what to expect, but when Landon opens the door she knows there is going to be trouble.Landon is blow away by how cute his new stepsister is, and makes a mental not to keep his distance. As the days go on, they realize they are fighting an attraction that threatens to overwhelm them. Not only that Landon is determined Chloe not find out about his learning disability. When his tutor and life long friend Monica confronts Chloe about it, and Chloe begins to understand how serious it is, will they be able to figure it out? Will their parent's wedding stop their budding love affair, and will Landon realize that just because he has dyscalculia doesn't make him less of a person?Okay I will say what I don't like sort of, I am slowly coming around to the whole stepbrother romance thing, but in thought it just seems a lot icky to me. Kind of one of those things you feel guilty for liking. That's my own hangup though and for the most part this didn't really make me feel that icky. They weren't raised together, when they meet they are already 18 and almost 17, and it does strike a chord that you can't always fight how you feel about someone. Now that being said this was a super fun, light, easy read with just enough seriousness to make it a great read! I actually had not heard of dyscalculia until I read this book, so I loved learning about that particular disability and how it affects people who have it.
