The most interesting thing is what we were not told! What role did the Guardians have in helping/not helping Krypton? Why would Superman have been willing to deal with them in the past? Will Hal Jordan be a mole? This was a very interesting installment of Year Two, and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here.
I liked this issue because of the meeting of the Guardian and Superman. The only reason that I bought the last two issues, was to see how the meeting played out. It looks like Superman is running amuck.
This is a review of Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Five (2015-) #29; for some reason has the same 16 reviews for multiple issues spanning different years. Superman and the Regime bully Black Adam for no particular reason. This series should have wrapped some time back. I liked the Plastic Man Injustice: Gods Among Us Year Four Annual (2015-) #1; since then I think I'm just waiting for the nasty supers to get what's coming to them. This is a review of #32: is still compiling these, and Hawkman is still Buccellato-horrible - so badly depicted he makes Bane look...not just sane, but attractive, like 'wow that guy should have his own series, anything to spare me further appearances of Hawkman!' It is actually a great contrast with #29 - there I was hoping Black Adam would win, here I was actually rooting for evil Superman.Year 5 #34 clinches it - so bad I no longer care what happens. Deus et Machina (God AND the Machine) wipe out the past several issues of plot development - presto zappo. 'God' literally descends like a big, unexpected black eraser, while the 'Machine' does this unconscious judo move to make sure this particular plot is permanently thwarted.
But I am missing some of the characters from the 1st year. The guys writing this book have no fear of ending any character's life. And it's pretty honest, if Sup's went bad...It was not go well for us.
This was a pretty cool fight but I would have loved to see how it would have played out without Lex Luther interfering. Too bad about you know who. He will be missed. And now a moment of silence....
It was a great confrontation between Superman and Ganthet. It clearly shows how far Superman has fallen, while also making him a remarkable character because of his history.
Superman asking bout his origins ganthet refusing to budge. Sinestro is in Superman 's ear? What is going to happen next? Are they going to head to Oa?
Fantastic 'Elseworlds' story about Superman suffering a horrible tragedy that causes him to decide to take over the world. Very dark story.
