I have 4 daughters, oldest is 12, and we are huge fans of the American girl books.. They give it to girls straight but in an age appropriate manner...I'm LDS and I've never been uncomfortable with information given in these books.
I bought this for my daughter. She reads it over and over, and can't wait to start her babysitting career. She especially loves the quizzes and the illustrations.
I have loved all of the American Girl series books for my daughter. We had previously bought her some of the body series books and were very happy with them and this book was no different. This book is so fun and colorful and my daughter immediately went to work taking the quizzes about her babysitting style and wanting to share many parts of the book that she especially liked. We bought this book to help start her thinking about how she would handle situations in the future and give her some good tips to creatively interact with children she will babysit. I am very happy with this purchase and would buy again.
I have an 11 year old daughter that really want to start babysitting. This has a lot of practical tips inside. Some she already knew just from helping out with younger cousins, but overall, I think this is a great book to help girls understand that babysitting is a commitment to health and safety of young children, not just a way to earn some extra cash.
When you want to start babysitting, you have to start somewhere. This babysitting guide provided me with lot of very important information. It didn't tell me everything but it was great to get me started.
I liked this it had good info,and made me feel a lot less nervous about baby sitting the adorable little girl down the street:)
This really helped my 11 year old have a broader perspective on the difference between Mommy's Helper and Babysitter. She has better expectations of what moms outside of her own would want and need from a sitter. Great resource for this transition.
This book has great tips on how to be a great sitter. I am definitely more confident about babysitting. It will help prepare you for a baby sitting.
