I gave this book five stars because it has a little something for every reader. Terror, dread, love, romance, funny, sad... this book was a real page turner and I couldn't put it down. I also really loved the way the author wrapped up the end with a few surprises I wasn't expecting. Cabin by the Lake is so fast pased and easy to read that I would reccomend this book to almost everyone.

I really enjoyed this one. Loved the twists, but there were some things I totally didn't expect. The characters seemed very real which is sometimes hard to find. I could picture meeting a few of them at different points in my life! If you're looking for a book that gives you some of everything, you'll love this one.

This book has both elements of suspense and romance. I was very pleased with how it was written and executed. I felt sorry for Lydia. She has the worst type of relationship with her mother because she's constantly overshadowed by her older (and much more preferred) sister, Brittany. I just want to strangle her mother for not appreciated both daughters equally. Mike comes in as a "passing-thru" type of guy. A man of mystery, if you will. But he's got a heart of gold for other people's welfare and he's certainly got eyes for Lydia. But Lydia isn't too sure of him at first. He's not too open about his past and she, herself, has a past she'd like to forget. All in all, a well-written story!

Light, easy read with truly enjoyable characters. So glad I added this book to my summer reading list.Douglas does an amazing job with plot and character descriptions. I fell in love with the main character and was eager to discover where the story would take her. Cabin by the Lake mixes suspense and romance with a little bit of good versus evil. Can't go wrong with this read!

I hesitated a bit before reading this book because It wasn't my usual genre. Deciding to give it a try for at least a few pages, I soon found myself finshing it in one day! I must say I liked this book, and immediately rushed to see if the author had any more out (that would be a no, for now). There's drama, suspense, a bit of action, and of course romance (clean). In my opinion it was a good read.

An interesting story of finding happiness and joy. Add a bit of intrigue and danger and you have a very satisfying summer read. At times I felt I was reading a book written for young adults -- high school age, but was still a nice little story about two woman who find love and happiness by the end of the book. NO violence and no profanity, which was a huge plus for me.

A great summer read. Nice pace, interesting characters, I could not put this book down until I read it from (virtual) cover to cover. My only issue is I wish the story were longer, as I am still invested in the characters!

Since I didn't know of the writer, going in, I wasn't expecting much. What a delightful surprise! I could not put it down, just waiting for the next thing to happen. Very nicely done, Ms. Douglas. I look forward to more books from you!
