I love this tiny book. The 128 pages are like a series of well paced centerfold avant-garde theater and curtains open and close with the flip of each page. The storytelling is punctual, but unlike punch lines, they are surprisingly eloquent and provocative. Texts and images compliment each other in a 1+1>2 way, leaving a complex aftertaste that begs to be re-savored. I also want to compliment on the built quality of this physical object that fits in my palm, the weight, binding and coloring are simply top notch.
First of all, don't get this book expecting a children's book filled with fairy tales. It can be read to children, but it is something very unique and special in itself. It is a small book, both in size and story length. In fact, these are more quotes and sayings that will get you thinking rather than stories. I am proud to own this collection of art and stories because when you read it you know it is truly something special. Love it for what it is, not for what you want it to be.
I’ve had the luxury of reading and reviewing both volumes one and two so when I had the opportunity to review this new volume, how could I refuse?Once again, hitRECord, founded by Joseph Gordon-Levitt has put together another collection of amazing stories which happen to be only one or two pages long. The beauty of this project is that anyone can join the community and submit their work for a chance to be included in the next volume.This is a fun book and would make a nice gift. I have all three and they do look great on my shelf. Most are simple black and white line drawings but there are shots of color here and there. I really enjoy them and love that artists everywhere, have the opportunity to be published through this project.
The collaborative concept behind hitrecord is brilliant on its own, and the fact that you can have a physical example of the connected work is great! The cover is really sweet and has a nice touch to it, as well as the tiny size. Lovely!
This is the third volume of Tiny Stories. It never ceases to amaze me how creative people are. How they can take a drawing and tell an entire story with it. Some drawings are more complex than others, but sometimes the simplest drawing speaks volumes. I have read each volume to date and have enjoyed them immensely. This is not one of those books that you pick up, read, and then never pick it up again. This is one where you pick it up over and over again. Each time a different story speaking to you.If you haven't read these books yet, you really need to. It doesn't matter which volume you start with. Every story is creative. They evoke all kinds of emotions from humor to heartbreak. And I love the quote written on the back: "The universe is not made of atoms; it's made of tiny stories." This sums up the book perfectly!

Yes, this collection of stories are compiled from actor, Joseph Gordon Levitt's website, Hitrecord. MY THOUGHTS ABSOLUTELY LOVED ITI am always amazed by the content in these stories, some as short as two words and the pictures that accompany them. They relate more in few words than most authors can do in a thousand words. I am always taken by how perfect these short stories are. I have read both prior books and these make wonderful gifts for even the most picky person. If you are a fan of the Six Word Memoir books, this series is right up your ally.
I am a huge fan of the Tiny Books of Tiny Stories. They are a tiny compilation of genius from all parts of the world. I always give these books to myself and to others as early Christmas gifts. It is literally a tiny gesture that can never go amiss.
