Having a hard time getting "into" this study. I think it all depends on where you are in your walk with the Lord but I tend to like "meaty" studies that really have you digging into scripture and this study is more about "feelings" and your personal thoughts on the matter discussed. Not my cup o tea. Chonda is a strong woman and has been through a lot of trials and I commend her for breaking through and not giving up. Just think this study could have had a bigger impact had it been more scripture based.....for me anyway.
I'm currently on week 3 of this study. It's a little different than what I'm used to. Most bible studies I've done have 5 days of "homework" that takes about an hour to do. This study has 1 day of homework a week. The study itself is useful, especially if you experience depression.
I love the book of Job, but I guess this wasn't my favorite Bible study. I didn't like the DVD that went with it. I don't like her sense of humor. I am glad the study is over, and on to a different one.
I was looking for a more in depth scholarly look at Job. I did not realize that this is actually Chonda's perspective, which is fine and I am sure will minister to many that are in situations similar to hers. Her overarching message of trust and peace is wonderful.
Difficult study to get through. Repetitive questions over & over. Wondering which author wrote scripture references. She had hard life but some comments about other people are judgmental. They will know who she's writing about. Like more intensive scripture in studies.
