I just finished reading Mark Goodwin's first installment in his new 3 book series "The Days of Noah: Conspiracy". If you are a fan of patriot fiction, you will not be disappointed as it is a great read. I finished the book in just a few sittings as it was a continuous ride of taking you from event to event in the lives of the multiple main characters. The author has a gift of taking the events happening in our world today and laying them down and explaining them to the lay reader in a very plausible, easy to understand way. When parts of a story bring a tear to my eye or anger at an injustice, I know the story has me fully engaged. I highly recommend this book and I'm hoping installment 2 is not far from being released.
This book is soooooo real and concise that it captured my heart. When the deputies came into Noah's house, (without giving away the story) it brought a tear to my eye. So real, so relevant. I am also a born again Christian and a combat Marine, and this writer gets you going. Love the quotes, many I posted on my facebook page. I have been around and take heed to what Mark the author writes. We are on the edge of a precipice of, I believe no return. God Bless the author and his friends and family ps I read all of Mark's books. Do yourself a favor. Read them now, before it's too late. please.
This book is not as intense as, say, "One Second After" or "Patriots", but there is a lot of great detail. Since this book is a work of fiction, there are no footnotes, but some of the things the characters say make me want to do some further research. The book is quite plausible, particularly to those who watch the news. Gripping story line. Easy to read because it's not technical. Lots of good information. Highly recommended.
Best Book Yet! Mark has blown it out of the park this time - he's got so much info in here I bookmarked a ton of pages for further study but yet I followed along with all of the economic and other technical stories the characters were talking about because it's all happening right now. This book isn't set in the future, it could all happen tomorrow. I'd say this is my favorite of his books so far the characters feel incredibly real and have amazing depth, and I really felt for Noah and his wife as they went through their trials. I just finished speed reading it in two days but I could not put it down. I stayed up the 2nd night until 3 am reading! I can't WAIT for the next installment and I'm passing this off to my husband just as soon as I re-read it again. A great read for anyone on the fence too - this pushes at your comfort zone in a way that you have to pay attention.
After reading the Economic Collapse Chronicles I was thrilled to hear that Mark Goodwin was writing another series! I tore through his first series and loved every minute! Days of Noah was another Home Run! I can't wait for the next book! Mark is uncanny in his ability to put you in the story and keep you captivated all the way. I found myself reading my kindle version every chance that I could! Mark navigates end times theology like a master, not camped out on only one way but weaving a plausible scenario that encourages your faith AND the need to be prepared. And if you don't listen to his podcast "prepperrecon" you're missing out on great information and interviews.
The first prepper fiction book that I wanted to finish and the first that I've suggested to my wife to read! I've read the free Kindle sample of most of the prepper fiction books on , and only a couple persuaded me to buy the complete book. Of those, none were enjoyable to read nor worthy of my recommendation to others. This book, however, hooked me right away and was difficult to put down. I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I also plan to check out the authors previous trilogy.
I found this quite by accident as I was just searching my Kindle library one night to find some stuff to read as I was about done with the last unread book I had at the time.As I picked out a few books to purchase to get me by for a few weeks, I came across this one, ignored it at first and then came back to it as I wanted to buy 3 books, only had 2 so far and was getting tired. I read a few quick reviews and thought, well it's worth a try at the price.I'm not much of a conspiracy theory person and not religious. Not an atheist either, more of an agnostic. But I grew up in a very Christian family and so the topic is no stranger to me. I think the draw for me was more that I sort of like apocalyptic themes (as long as there are no zombies, ugh) and conspiracy theory can be cool too since you know it's fiction. But the liberty theme is a natural like for me, being a libertarian.At first I thought, wow, this is so meh, I don't know, started out very slow, but then quickly picked up and drew me in. Haven't lost interest yet and I'm about 80% through at this point. I like a lot of the quotes in the story, all familiar to me. For me, I wish it was a little more light on the religious side and more heavy on the liberty side. But I understand the author is a Christian, so not knocking him for that. It's just that some of those sections get a little boring for me.Anyway, I would recommend this, it's pretty well written and keeps your interest going.Strangely enough, I was just reading the news headlines for the day, right before I wrote this, I'm fanatic about it (online news, I hardly watch TV at all and the MSM is pure garbage) and it was sort of strange all the talk about the stock market headed for a crash and China being accused of being the catalyst. Maybe Mark Goodwin is a prophet, (;
