On the Edge of Time has proved to be a very enjoyable story. It is much like the Left Behind series, which worried me a bit to begin with...the main character is a reporter, as in Left Behind, and the style of writing is somewhat alike, with the jumping of scenes. But, going along with biblical base, there have to be similarities otherwise. Even so, the author came up with a different take and the focus was different. As the story went on, the similarities became less and less. There were very few editing problems and structure was well done. This book centers near totally on the mid East area and the US is not involved much in the book. The story flows well and keeps one reading. I am nearly done with part 2 and I recommend this to any who like end-time books, biblically based.
Well written and edited, this is a plausible fictionalized account of what may happen following the rapture. At over 500 pages, it's a good value too.If you're looking for part two, look at the page for part one right under the price where the formats are shown. You will see a little plus sign by the Kindle and Paperback options. Click on the plus sign and part 2 will be listed. It's listed with a publication date of July 31, 2013. Hope this helps.
Setting is after the Rapture and before the 2nd Coming. Jerry Westfield, a star reporter for a large East Coast newspaper is driven to find out what happened to some close friends who are part of the "Great Disappearance" in which 1/3 of the world's population suddenly are missing. Jerry finds his best friend's Bible, and begins a search that has many twists and turns. This is a two-parter, but the authors don't really let on to that until near the end of Part One. Very interesting and exciting as Good fights to win out over Biblically-prophesied evil.
I just reviewed the second volume and figured I should go back and write something about this one, too.I really loved these two books. They are religious in nature, being about the "End TImes" and follow the scriptures pretty closely. I was pleased to see how a couple of others envision all of this happening.I cared about what happened to the characters, too - not just how the events would come to pass...I read Volume 2 immediately after I got done with this one, and thoroughly enjoyed it too. And, I would read more from these authors.
I really wasn't sure at first. It seemed closely related to the Left Behind series, which I loved and read the whole series twice! Even though the lead character is a reporter it is quite different as far as characters are concerned. There are similarities due to the fact it is based on biblical references. So if you liked the Left Behind series you will enjoy this book! Make sure you got time because it's hard to put down! Ready for book 2!
Incredible job! This fictional story covers the 7 years of life on Earth following the rapture. I have read a lot of books about this future Biblical event including the Left Behind series. In my opinion, the authors did an outstanding job of making the characters believable and the story come to life. There were no pat answers or passing over the trials predicted for mankind, and the struggles of everyone involved were believable. The only thing I personally believe they got wrong was that children of nonbelievers were left behind following the rapture, and that would contrary to Biblical teaching. But I could overlook that and still enjoy the story. Very well done!!!
It is a different type of take on the last days and similar to Left Behind in that the main character is a reporter. I plan on reading the 2nd part too. The only thing is that in places it kind of drags a bit but you still want to keep reading it to see where it goes. I think it is worth the read. It too is feasible.
This book was impossible to put down. It was riveting from start to finish. Great characters and dialogue, descriptions that made me feel as if I were there. And don't just read the first one, but read the second one as well. You will want to know what happens.
