Even though this lovely book is directed for children, an adult will enjoy sharing this book with the child. So much to see and discuss and learn.The illustrations were very detailed and child friendly. They were colorful.The reader had an opportunity to browse each page illustrating a continent or country or group of countries. The illustrations labeled cities, volcanoes, mountains, and there were people, plants, animals and even more interesting facts on each page.The text gave specific information to the reader and it coordinated beautifully with the illustrations.There was so much to read and explore. This book is a resource for children. I see it being used over and over again. Have fun exploring our world with your child.*I received this for review - all opinions are my own*
My son and family lived overseas for several years; they now live in Texas but my son travels internationally for his work, I bought this for my grandson so he could learn about the places he has lived and the places his father is going. A success so far.
My 8-year-old granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this together. We sat with a laptop and would periodically go to Youtube to watch videos of some of the things we read about, like the Grand Canyon and glaciers. It is a great way to introduce the world to a child.
Such a CUTE and colorful book! My 5 year old son, who loves all things "world" can get lost in this for a loooooong time just looking at the places and pictures. Great buy!
The maps are not as detailed as I would like. I wanted to be able to show my daughter where she lives. It is more country specific, but not state/region specific.
Great for young children because it has really fun graphics to coordinate with the country/continent on each page.
Nice introductory atlas. Colorful and with fun facts for children (and adults as well).
I didn't get past page four due to the information being factually incorrect. The author does not know that the continent of North America is only made up of three countries: Canada, USA and Mexico. She adds additional countries which are actually located on the South American continent plus islands which are not part of any continent. Continents are contiguous land masses. Regions can encompass more than contiguous land masses. But if you specifically refer to something as a continent, you need to get the countries right and leave out the islands. I wrote to the publisher because I think it's a shame to not be able to enjoy this book. The illustrations are gorgeous. And geography is such an important subject. I hope they will fact check, make corrections and reissue.
