I'm sorry but you can't have a good story without well written characters. So to the people thinking it's full of filler, they need to shut up. It's a important backstory to Guren and Yuu's relationship. I appreciated the break from the main plot and it just shows how much Yuu cares about his family. Really builds to the next volume. I just wish it was shown in the anime.

I love this series. I really do. It's one of the best recent manga I've read (along with My Hero Academia, etc.). For me, it's also very relatable, at least character wise. I can really relate to the main character, Yuichiro Hyakuya, because like him I experienced great pain earlier on in life (though maybe not as bad as his), and always wondered what my purpose was, until I finally found something to truly live for. And also, being in the post-apocalyptic setting that it is, it has a surprisingly strong theme of the importance of family, which is another thing I love about it. This volume itself is jam-packed with more of that than any of the previous volumes, and the Yu/Guren back story was a plus. So, I guess you could say I really relate a lot to the entire volume. Pick it up.

This series is really good! A post apocalyptic world where there are vampires, demons, and monsters around the corner. This volume left off with a cliffhanger....So can't wait for the next to know more of what will happen.
