We found this book to be lacking in the number of entries/words it carries. My daughter is in a 3rd grade GT class, and a number of the words on her spelling list are not even included in this book. I find the book to be average, at best.
I use this book in my classroom. It helps my students come up with better ways of saying and writing things. It is quicker for them to look through than a thesaurus. It helps ESL students widen their vocabulary easily. It also helps me when I work on papers while getting my Master's degree. It is a great aid.
A good quick reference book, but I will say that some words are not listed. It is focused for 2nd - 5th grade in my opinion. A handy addition for a home reference library!
This is a great book to have around for any type of writing or home schooling. It shows you the different forms of words that sound the same, but are spelled differently based on what the word means.
...and it appears there is a wormhole somewhere in your IT etherland. They are super for my non-English tutoring students. When added to the little Webster's black and white Word Guide, it's a great item for their backpacks here at the Comm College. No batteries nor do they shatter if dropped.
This is a quick reference for classroom use. Sometimes a teacher cannot come up with one of these elements and this reference helps.

Primary education is improved significantly when students understand, both the definition and the use of, synonyms and antonyms. This book is a significant aid in getting the points across. I highly recommend this book or one similar to it, to all primary grade teachers.
