I was an acolyte in the Episcopal Church when I was in junior high school. I viewed the tradition, rituals, and liturgies as necessary for worship. When I saw this item available I had to have it, even if it was 45 years later. It is a great addition to my office and my Bible study materials. I use liturgical resources for my daily office (daily devotions). I like to retain the tradition, liturgy, and ritual to my daily life habits, and not just a Sunday occurrence.The only problem with this particular edition is that it smells very musty, like the box the book was in got wet and had laid around for a while.
The book is printed in an easy-to-read font, with rubrics that are actually in red, and with page references to the Book of Common Prayer. It also has plenty of place-holder ribbons. All of these things make it ideal for helping the presider to lead the liturgies of the church.
Our priest was blown away at how beautiful this Missal is. He especially appreciated the many colored bookmarks which help him naviagate his way through the Mass. Highly recommended for churches looking for quality Altar Books at an affordable price.
The Altar book has lots more info in it, especially regarding the musical settings and how to sing collects, Lessons and the Gospel. Great book if you need it....
