This book was amazing. Easy to read and short chapters. As a parent of two teenagers, I thought it had a lot to offer my kids and myself as well. I am also a High School Youth Group sponsor, so I spend a lot of time in the teen world. Today's society spends all it's time telling our kids to think only of themselves. This book challenges them to think beyond themselves and put God first.
I wanted to read this before I gave it to my niece, to make sure it didn't contain anything biblically questionable. I found this book difficult to follow. It lightly jumps from topic to topic with little explanation or flow. Maybe it works better for a teenager than someone my age, but I didn't see much that would deepen my niece's faith or understanding of who she is in Christ. This book assumes the reader already has a strong Christian foundation, so the author makes light of things that may not be taken that way by a new believer like my niece.
I thought this was a terrific book. I read the teen edition. Each chapter could be set as a devotion with a group of kids, or as an icebreaker kind of topic read. I enjoyed each chapter. They are short and to the point, but they cause you to think about why you are here, why we face circumstances that we do, etc. and Who it's really all about.If you have teenagers, this would be a good devotion to do together, or in a youth group setting.
This book is wonderful to spark discussions with Middle & High School age students in your church. I highly recommend this book.
I purchased this book for our High School Sunday School class. The kids seem to enjoy the subjects presented and as always, Max Lucado is excellent!I would recommend this book for any teen or for discussions with your teen or group of teens.
This book is great. I've been reading this to my Jr. High age kids. It's written in a way they can relate to and the message is sorely needed for our youth today.
Serves its purpose well, to reach the younger egocentric gen. Easy read to use as gift. I didn't care for the ?s and answers feature that much, but others may.
I used this for a Disciple Now for my 7th and 8th grade guys and girls and they LOVED IT! Brought to light some things that they had never thought about!
