Aimed at children, this is solid and fairly accurate, though adults would do better with Evelyn Waugh's brilliant masterwork. Campion is a great saint and a fascinating figure, and my son, aged 9, was gripped by this version of his story.
I had given it to our son in his Christmas stocking when he was 11. He enjoyed it very much and it helped him in his faith formation. I bought it again to give to our godson who loves to read, but his parents don't go to church anymore. It's also a good book to read to/with your son, a chapter a night at bedtime. Of course, start reading a while before bedtime, because it will generate conversation regarding true heroism, courage, values, standing up for what one believes, bravery, not following the fads of secular society, and something beyond instant gratification! A book with definite current relevance.
It was a great story about a martyr. It was a well written story and even though it was required reading for school, it was a very enjoyable book.
