One Hundred Bible Stories
Ebooks Online

"This collection of Bible stories has long been a favorite for children, teachers, and parents and has proven to be of lasting value to help make teaching the Bible a memorable experience. Each story is illustrated with a beautiful full-color picture, designed to catch the attention of young readers and impress upon them the excitement of Bible history. The stories are told in the language of the Bible, have explanatory notes, and suggest a memory verse and prayer or hymn stanza. Scripture quotations are based on the Holy Bible: English Standard Version (ESV)."

Ordered this revised 2015 edition from another seller. Get the old edition used from instead. The new edition takes sentences from the ESV Bible, a few sentences here, a few there, and tends to be choppier than in the old edition. Also, although the bible story has been changed when going with the ESV version rather than the NIV version, the reflection questions have not, even when the question no longer makes sense because of what was left out. Example: p. 44 of the old version has Judah promise to protect Banjamin with his life and bring him back to his father safe. So when the reflection questions ask "How had Judah assured Jacob regarding the safety of Benjamin?" the answer is there. But in the revised edition Judah merely says, "Send the boy with me". The reflection question does not make sense in the revised edition. So the next reflection question, "How has Jesus taken personal responsibility for us beg\fore our Father in heaven?" makes sense when you know that Judah promised to give his life to protect Benjamin, but since the revised edition doesn't mention this, this becomes the second question that makes no sense.
