The "participants guide" is to go along with the DVD study. The "Study guide" (a different item) is to go along with the original book.

I read this book over a long Christmas break and it was the perfect book for the season. Grace is an amazing thing and Mr. Yancey captures it so well in his words. Mr. Yancey's writing style is very comforting like a good conversation. I recommend this both as something to read and something to give as a gift to someone that needs a reminder of the good in this world.

There are books that come along that make a difference in our lives, but this "takes the cake"! I feel my life will never be the same after reading his insights into Grace and the challenge we have before us as Christians. I am grateful to Mr. Yancey and feel I am blessed to be sharing this time in history with him. He has such a gift to offer. Mary Sue Reutebuch

The series is ok, but repetitive. I find it frustrating to have to purchase this guide because the guide that comes with the video is not extensive enough for group study. I think there might be another book, too. My group grew tired of the series after about 4 sessions. I purchased the book, too.

Possibly the most powerful, sensible book on grace and forgiveness I've read. In a series of real-life stories, Philip Yancy explores what grace can do for not only the perpetrator but those who feel or are in a very real sense victims of slights to horrific wrongs. It will challenge you to reach into your memory bank and forgive old grudges, debts, and violations. A must-read for anyone.

The book What's so Amazing about Grace was great but I was very disappointed in the Participant's Guide. The applications were very graphic and not ones that the average person would ever imagine. The participant questions were dull. I am half way through leading this study and am perplexed on what to do. I may suggest we stop and start a new study.

This book goes with the Video. Original book not necessary but I strongly recommend you get the book as well. The going deeper parts are excellent. Worth the time, depsite Mr. Yancey appearing to be stuck in the '70s.

I'm currently using this book in a book study group. We are reading the book, using the study guide and also the video that goes along with the study. The whole concept of extending grace to others because we've experienced God's grace is powerful and life changing.
