At first I was a bit apprehensive reading this since I am not a child but as I got deeper into the each story, I realized that these stories are not meant for children only but for adults as well. I loved this book and recommends it for any age.
My 9 year old daughter and I have been enjoying these stories a lot. This is her first time heading Indian folk tales so she is extremely attentive when I read them to her. I have only heard a couple of Indian folk tales from friends so it is nice to have stories to read that are new to me as well.Since the book includes 50 stories I have no trouble finding a tale with a moral that I really want her to listen to and remember (my favorites are team work and sharing). What I love most about this book is that the moral of the story is clearly defined at the end of each folk tale. That is very helpful to a parent who wants their child to read the book without aid but still understand the moral.

Each story has a moral at the end, and they are very appropriate to read to children at bedtime. It is wonderful to read tales from another country and learn about a culture which is different to ours, although the stories show that we are more alike as a people than different. The color map of India at the beginning of the book is a great idea because you can look up where a story came from as you read it. I really enjoyed this collection - it is a great reference book of curated tales from ancient times.
Sacred Stories book is kind of a story that you can get a moral values from one generation to another generation to the next next generation. This is how our life cycle is we can't skip of where we are came from.Although I'm old but I enjoyed reading this book together with my little sister. I'm sure your children gonna love the story..Also it is fit to the bedtime story with your child.. GREAT book and GREAT author.. Highly recommended this book.!!
Fantastic! My kids have been getting pleasure from these stories. Indian folk tales have caught their entire interest as they tremendously become attentive when they heard the story. This was amazingly created by the author as the book includes 50 stories that enclosed with moral lessons that are obviously described at the end. Books like this will be a vast means for the parents to be really happy for the benefit it gives to their children. I will absolutely share this to other parents and rest assured they will have a great bond of enjoyable moments through this book! Good work of the author! Applause!

Cute and bright illustrations for younger readers!This book is especially great for traveling, waiting rooms, and read aloud at home. This story is great for a quick bedtime story and to be read aloud with friends and family. Your child will be entertained for hours!
This book compiled of 50 Indian Moral Stories. It gives morals and conveys messages at the end of each story. These stories are sacred to the Indian generation. This compilation is really great for children during bed time and it tells them about their folk and history. What I loved about this book is that it is based on the rich history of the Indian culture and these stories were passed on from generation to generation guiding the kids to understanding there history.
