Minimal information but minimal information with excellent photographs. Highlightes some of the basic information on some of the more popular "digs". Probably more suited for the yonger reader or a reader completely ignorant of the field of archaeology. A good starter book.......

The book is well written and easy to understand.I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages, from age 8 to 99!
DK Eyewitness books belong on your child's bookshelf. The clear and concise blurbs round out the excellent visual information, and your child can absorb as much or as little as they choose.This book shows several instances of tiny fragments being pieced together to form artifcats, and how archeologists search for clues.Excellent book. Not very long -- it leaves you wanting more.
If you're looking for fiction/non-fiction ideas about archaeology and some hands on ideas for learning about the trade, then this is a good book. I also bought: "Archaeology for Kids: Uncovering the Mysteries of Our Past, 25 Activities" and liked it better. It covers evolution, so it's a good tool for conversation and discussing for creationists, it's strong if you are of the side if evolution.
Very fast shipping. My son needed this book for summer reading and can't find it in any book store. We received it in 5 days.
