This is a great book for parents who are comfortable with bikes and hope to ride with their kids. It's a great teaching tool for parents and kids simultaneously which is really ingenious. Yes there is a cute story with nice graphics your kid will love - my 5 year old does - but the author uses story telling to show parents and kids how they can ride without training wheels. We read this book and Franklin Gets a Bike at the same time and my son really took away a strong self-confidence from this book in particular. In my case I was taking the training wheels off his bike but the method in this book actually teaches you how to avoid training wheels in the first place. VERY CLEVER! This book should be packaged with every kids bicycle sold!

As an owner of a publishing company/small press, I have an eye for authors with passion and dedication to their craft. Oliver is such an author. The concept behind the "Peter Learns" series is smart, educational and fun. Both parents and children will enjoy this book. We look forward to seeing the next in the series. Buy this book today!

It's clear to see that author Oliver Carbonell embraces both children and bike riding, as well as his beloved home turf of Inwood Park in New York City. As he guides the reader through the process of learning to ride a bike, he offers charming glimpses of the local scenery through colorful illustrations. The story will pique any child's curiosity and confidence for both bike riding and seeing the world.
