The Man Who Laid The Egg (Louise A. Vernon Religious Heritage Series)
Ebooks Online

Erasmus laid the egg that Luther hatched, is what the people said. And that made Gerhard Koestler smile. He knew that Erasmus had influenced Luther's thinking. He also believed both men were trying to serve God according to the Scriptures. Gerhard lived in Germany in the 1500s. After a series of adventures and narrow escapes, Gerhard arrived in Basel, Switzerland, where he was able to live in the same house as Erasmus. Although Erasmus' enemies accused him of agreeing with Martin Luther, Erasmus said that the Bible was his guide.

This book is recommended for use in Simply Charlotte Mason. We are in the process of settling into a Charlotte Mason method, and are enjoying it immensely. We are using this book as a family read-a-loud, and my guys ask to hear this book first thing in the mornings because they are enjoying it so much. Now, I will admit they may enjoy listening to me try to pronounce some of the challenging names, but over all they are enjoying the story.

This a great book about the time of Erasmus and Luther.I love how this historical fiction brings back the reformation.

The plot wasn't good at all. Very boring and repetitive. Don't waste your time on this book. I read this book aloud to my kids and by the end they all hated the word Erasmus (it's terribly overused), and treated it like a swear word in the house. No one was allowed to say it.
