This is a great story full of humor and with an intelligent but not overbearing heroine. The H & h are in fact so delightful in their interactions that I could barely stand to read of the happenings of the books other characters, however necessary they are to the story. I must say that the author's writing is very cleverly done and I look forward to reading more from her.
Very enjoyable book -- combines the best elements of a traditional Regency novel and sweet romance. The scenes are well researched with excellent construction, the pace moves a well, and the plotting is excellent as well. Definitely a fun read!
This is a cute, light-hearted romance. The oddly named Georgian is unusual in her interests and capabilities, preferring farmers' meetings to balls, the Political Register to Style or Gossip magazines. She's overseer for her brother the duke and is gradually winning the admiration of the duke's tenants. The neighboring earl, Tristan, has sought her out to tease and taunt from her earliest memories. She is invited to an evening tea that includes a special guest, a very handsome and erudite satirist, Jeremy Tudor, with whom she immediately forms a friendship rooted in shared intellectual interests. A choice may have to be made.Minor grammatical errors are sprinkled throughout but don't detract from the story overmuch. (missing letters, incorrect verb tenses, misuse of apostrophes). Use of a grammar check program (Grammarly is free!) would identify them all for easy fixing. The forms of address are incorrect - as a duke's unmarried daughter, she'd be Lady Georgian, not Lady Beckleham.The characters are interesting, the reading easy. It's a good choice for a bit of light-hearted diversion.
